Low User
option is good if you don't use much electricity. You get a lower daily charge but a higher variable usage charge. If you use 8,000 kWh or less a year - 9,000 kWh if you live in the lower South Island(south of and including Christchurch, but excluding the West Coast).

Standard user
option works best for most customers. You pay a higher daily rate than the low user plan but a slightly lower price for each unit of electricity you use. This plan will be cost-effective if you use more than 8,000 kWh a year - 9,000 kWh a year if you live in lower South Island.
